Succession planning is essential to keep a business vital into the future as ownership or management transition from one generation to the next. CarolinaPower and Brasfield & Gorrie co-hosted a total of three all-day Ben Franklin Experience (BFE) Construction Experiences in June, July and August of 2018. The purpose of these experiential learning events, made possible by BFE, was to show highly-motivated teens the dynamism of the industry and the opportunities that await them — including those for young women. Twenty students participated per event.

How to estimate construction labor cost can be a daunting task with extreme pressure for the commercial estimator to get it right or face severe consequences.  The results of miscalculations producing an inaccurate quote or estimate can lead to many business outcomes, all bad: lost money and new business, lower profit margins, angry customers, and even employees quitting.  Knowing how to build accurate quotes and estimates begins with estimating construction labor costs.
 
 
According to Carolinas AGC (CAGC), the US Department of Labor has announced that the deadline for submitting information for the Davis Bacon wage survey of Building construction in the metropolitan counties of the state of North Carolina has been extended.
Orangeburg (S.C.)-based CF Evans Construction is proud to announce their plans for National Construction Safety Week, scheduled for May 6-10, 2019. This is the company's second year of participation in the construction industry-wide education and awareness event for which more than 80 construction firms across the US and Canada have joined forces.
 
According to Associated Builders and Contractors, the U.S. construction industry is still benefiting from the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which has helped small business owners grow their companies and workforce since its passage in December 2017. On Tax Day, ABC called on Congress to make the individual and pass-through small business deductions permanent—currently scheduled to sunset in 2025—and repeal the alternative minimum tax and the estate tax.
